One year ago, it all began

Date: 8/12/2006
It hit me a couple of days ago that today was a significant day in 2005. It was this day that I sent my application on to FTIA to begin this wonderful journey to my daughter. I have spent a lot of time thinking about what I, we, have been through in this past year. God has taught me so much about myself and about Himself through the past year. I will never cease to be amazed at how God has me in His embrace, always.A year ago, I would never have been able to imagine sitting here holding my daughter close to my heart and just snuggling with her. A year ago, I never would have been able to explain how much I could love someone so little, I still can't put it into words. A year ago, I thought I knew so much about my daughter's birth country, I now know I knew so little. A year ago, I asked God to keep me safe and provide for me through this journey, and He has! My baby is here, we are happy, and all is in His hands. My best friends' daughter has joined our little family here and will be our nanny. She is a wonderful young lady and lovs Addie Mei to pieces!! I am truely honored and blessed to have her here. Addie Mei is in great hands!!I am so thankful to all of the people who gave me advice and tips along the way. I have journeled so much about this past year! Addie Mei has a wonderful account of how God paved the way for her to join our family. I have a great account of God's provision and grace.I added some pictures to the albums. I can't get over how much she has changed! Today also marks our 5 month Gotcha Day anniversary. I look at the pictures of Gotcha Day and am amazed at how much she has grown and improved!! We went down to Southern Indiana to visit a family that was on our trip to CHina to get their daughter. We had a great visit! They have a wonderful family and it is great to keep in touch. We took the kids to an amusement park/water park. Addie Mei had a ball!! She rode some of the kiddy rides and really had fun in the water park. She continues to amaze me at what she is willing to try.School starts for me on Wed. I am not quite ready to leave her 8-9 hours a day, but I know she is in great hands and all will be well!! That's about all for now. Until next time......
